Bringing Down the New Jim Crow

Bringing Down the New Jim Crow: This program represents CPJC's contribution to the local and national movement to end the racialized system of mass incarceration.

CPJC offers local study circles in understanding the forces behind the US's growing mass incarceration epidemic despite the fall in actual crime rates. The study circle also works to vision and implement a path forward with nonviolent action to change this new caste system. Participants in the reading group are invited, after completing the reading, to join our New Jim Crow Working Group to take action locally on issues of mass incarceration and racism.

CPJC's program also includes the promotion, and distribution of the Bringing Down the New Jim Crow radio documentary series, and distribution of The New Jim Crow Study Guide and Call to Action to classrooms, faith communities, book groups, and re-entry centers throughout the United States.
