 <p>Concerned&nbsp\;Chicoans rallied in the Downtown City Plaza to protest the<img src=\\"http\://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn\:PZj02cSwIJQsZM\:http\://electronicintifada.net/artman2/uploads/2/071123-el-haddad-gaza.jpg\\" align=\\"right\\" /> Israeli assault on Palestinian citizens. Similar rallies were held all over the U.S. on the same day. All&nbsp\;were invited to bring signs and candles to show&nbsp\;their opposition to the present Isaeli policies and action.</p>

 <p>Hundreds of folks celebrated the courage of Dr. Martin Luther King as we gathered at the Downtown Plaza and marched in his honor.&nbsp\; The program at Trinity United Methodist Church featured music and words by special guests including the new Bethel AME pastor\, an Obama campaign organizer\, a representative from the Peace &amp\; <span class=\\"yshortcuts\\" id=\\"lw_1232086504_17\\">Justice   Center</span>\, and the founder of a West African aid organization based in Chico.</p>
