The CA State Budget Coalition held a press conference to explain why a Cuts-Only budget strategy is not only economically reckless but morally distasteful.  At 9am, the caravan left for the State Capitol. We were joined by people from all around northern California for a press conference inside the Capitol at 11:30 AM, and then we marched to the Governor's office.  Four members of our group went into the governor's office to explain our position.

Although we did not change the minds of the governor's staff (not surprising), we did get lots of media coverage, which spread our message far and wide!

Neda Agha-SoltanWe gatherd in the Chico Downtown Plaza to stand in solidarity with the people of Iran.  We stood in support of the Iranian people's right to peaceful protest and freedom of speech.  We lit a candle for Neda Agha-Soltan and all those who have been killed during the post-election turmoil.  We lit a candle for each prisoner of conscience.  We lit a candle for each human rights activist. We lit a candle for peace throughout the world.
