Office of Congressman Wally Herger

While people are being denied access to healthcare, insurance companies are reporting record profits.  CEOs are receiving hundreds of millions of dollars each year in salaries, not counting millions in bonuses. Excessive profits come at the expense of affordable coverage to millions of Americans and even denying care to those of us that have insurance. We say “No More!”

As Congress debates a healthcare reform bill, people are dying.  A study published in the American Journal of Public Health entitled “Health Insurance and Mortality in US Adults” shows a strong correlation being uninsured and preventable deaths. Almost 45,000 people die annually as a result of lack of healthcare.  This equates to one person dying every 12 minutes.

One hundred people marched on Wally Herger’s office to tell him to support Medicare for All and stop supporting the greedy corporations.  We honored those that have died because they lacked health insurance. A bell was sounded every 12 minutes to remember those dying every day.
