 Third &amp\; Main Streets</p>
 <p>Over 100 people gathered to help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Chico Peace Movement.&nbsp\; We had a large peace vigil on the corners of Third &amp\; Main Streets in downtown Chico.&nbsp\; Then\, we walked over to the &quot\;Hands&quot\; at City Hall to have birthday cake and hear tales of the movements founders.</p>
 <p>In 1960\, the founder of the Chico Peace and Justice Center\, Willamina Taggart\, began a weekly vigil to pray for peace at the building site for Titan missile silos in north Chico. Willa was soon joined by Florence McLane\, and Helen Kinnee. After the silos were closed\, they moved their peace vigil to Third and Main Streets\, where it continues to this day. That effort fifty years ago marks the beginning of the Chico Peace Movement.</p>

DESCRIPTION:<p><span class=\\"inline inline-right\\"><img src=\\"http\://chico-peace.org/sites/all/files//images/MadAsHellDoctors.blog medium.JPG\\" alt=\\"\\" title=\\"\\"  class=\\"image image-blog medium \\" width=\\"250\\" height=\\"248\\" /></span>The Mad As Hell Doctors (MAHD) followed up on their landmark 2009 National Tour across the United States with a similar tour through California\, consisting of 26 rallies and town hall meetings from Arcata on September 23rd to the capitol in Sacramento and Chico on October 12th.</p>
 <p>MAHD is a group of activist physicians and nurses\, patient advocates and other health care providers who are fighting for a Single National Health Insurance Program for all Americans.&nbsp\; Check out their <a href=\\"http\://www.madashelldoctors.com\\">website</a>.</p>
