Labor Day Solidarity Picnic
Sunday, September 4, 11 am-2:30 PM
Durham Park, Durham Pentz Road
The Workers' Alliance (sponsors of the April 23 Workers' Rights Rally) held a Labor Day Picnic, September 4, 11 AM to 2:30 PM, at the Durham Park on the Durham Pentz Rd. Major sponsors included California United Homecare Workers and the Butte-Glenn Central Labor Council. (CPJC is a cosponsor.) There was watermelon; barbequed hot dogs, hamburger; salads; cold drinks; games and prizes for kids; great music including labor sing-alongs; good old-fashioned labor talk, and a little political oration from our local favorites that will include information about Butte County redistricting. Bring your appetites, your ears, and your feet for thumpin'. Local nonprofits are invited to table. Contact Linda Furr for full details ljbfurr@yahoo.com.
