The 2011 Peace Endeavor Award
Nominations due September 30th
The CPJC Board of Directors was seeking nominations for the 2011 Peace Endeavor Award, which will be announced and presented at the annual dinner on October 19. Nominees should have a long record of community activism in support of social justice, though not necessarily in the immediate domain of the Peace & Justice Center. Both individuals and organizations can be nominated. Recent award winners include Leslie Johnson, Laurel Yorks, the Shalom Free Clinic, Emily Alma and the Community Collaborative for Youth, and Cathy Webster and 1000 Grandmothers. Nominations should be no longer than 500 words and should include biographical information about the nominee as well as a discussion of why that person or organizations deserves to be honored. Send nominations by e-mail to the Board chair, Susan Tchudi <susan@turkeytailfarm.net> or drop off or mail your nomination to the Peace Center, 526 Broadway, Chico 95926. Deadline for receipt of nominations is September 30.
