Witness to Innocence: A Presentation By Gary Drinkard

Gary DrinkardGary Drinkard spent six years on Death Row in Alabama before he was proven innocent of a murder for which he had been convicted and sentenced to death. Come and hear the story of an innocent man wrongly convicted of murder in 1995. In 2000, two years after the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the conviction, the State Supreme Court reversed and remanded the case for a new trial based on prosecutorial misconduct.

Trinity United Methodist Church, with the active support of the Chico Peace & Justice Center and numerous other local community religious and human rights organizations, will host a free public presentation by Mr. Drinkard at 6 PM Wednesday, October 9,  in the Sanctuary, 5th and Flume Streets in Chico. A Meet and Greet Reception will follow the presentation. In addition, earlier in the day, there will be a presentation hosted by the CSUC Peace Institute and the Center for Applied and Professional Ethics in Kendall Hall 207 from 1PM to 3PM.
