GET INVOLVED - WE NEED YOU!

We need and welcome all volunteers to keep the center running and to grow the movement. There are many ways to work with the center that are flexible enough to fit your schedule. Check out the opportunities below to get involved through General Volunteering, by joining a Team, or by arranging an Internship. And, come to an informal meeting and get a better understanding of what the Chico Peace and Justice Center does and how you can get involved in the work. We need you!!!

We are looking for folks who share our value in striving to be a resource for our community. We seek those who value collaboration and consensus decision-making, and those who strive to create an environment that nurtures the development of the organization as a whole as well as the individuals within it. We seek individuals who want to provide accountable and power-building leadership for collective action.

General Volunteering:

We need two types of "general volunteers"; office staff and event volunteers.

Office Staff

Reliable people to staff the center are essential to the work of CPJC. Please consider committing a few hours a week during business hours to keep the center functioning. Duties may include:

*Assisting People Visiting the Center

*Answering Phones

*Maintaining Web Site/Technology

*Updating Weekly Email

*Entering Data

*Making and Distributing Flyers

*Writing/Sending PSAs

*General Administrative Support

Event Volunteers

During events, we always need help with making the day successful. Depending on the event, activities can include transporting equipment, tabling and leafleting, collecting signatures, and cleaning up. Without extra help, we cannot do the work we do! Volunteer needs are posted in the center and on the website.

Team Work

Teams have formed around on-going projects. Click here to learn more about these teams and contact us to get involved with a team.

Internships

The CPJC also offers internships to Chico State and Butte College students each semester.

We are open to almost any type of internship. Interning at the Chico Peace and Justice Center can be an amazing opportunity for anyone that simply wants a chance to be creative and do important work towards making the world a more just and peaceful place.
